After so many weeks of teasers and rumours, the Chinese giant Vivo finally launched Vivo S9e in Australia alongside its sibling named Vivo S9. The smartphone is currently official in China, whereas Australia and New Zealand seem to wait a little further for the official confirmation. Putting this phone into the flagship category wouldn’t be wrong – thanks to its punchiest and vivid display as well as fantastic camera configuration on the back at an affordable price.

Display

In terms of design, the Vivo S9e in Australia maintains a fantastic body design that we have seen on a number of other Vivo smartphones. The phone brings a smooth enough rear panel that comes with a triple camera configuration and an LED Flash. Moreover, a waterdrop notch is available on the front and the entire body is exceptionally lightweight with plentiful colours to choose from.

On the front side of the phone, the Vivo S9e in Australia has a display size of 6.44-inches with AMOLED technology. The display houses a maximum resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 409 PPI Pixel Density. The other display features you would enjoy include a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+.

Camera Features

Moving to its camera configuration, the Vivo S9e is blessed with a powerful and versatile triple camera configuration. This camera configuration consists of a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera lens, and a 2MP depth camera lens. The camera also has Dual-LED, Dual-Tone Flash, and a slew of other features like Panorama, HDR, and 4K video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is a single 32MP selfie snapper alongside HDR and video calls facility. Unfortunately, it’s limited to recording 1080p videos only.

Software & Hardware

When it comes to the internal components, the Vivo S9e in Australia comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 820 5G Chipset that promises flawless operations smoothly. Moreover, it has a Mali-G57 MC5 GPU that manages graphics quite perfectly. It runs on the Android 11 operating system with OriginOS 1.0 on top.

Talking about the internal storage, the Vivo S9e smartphone comes in two different configurations to choose from – 128GB and 256GB. No matter which variant you choose, the phone doesn’t allow you to expand the storage any further. Furthermore, both variants come with the same amount of RAM that is 8GB for multitasking and gaming.

In terms of power, the Vivo S9e in Australia sports a non-removable battery of 5000mAh alongside fast-charging technology. Availability & Price

March 27th of 2021 was the official release date of Vivo S9e in China. It’s already for sale there but other countries, including Australia and New Zealand, have to wait a little more for the official availability. The Vivo S9e in Australia sets users back AU$517 for its base variant 8GB + 128GB whereas you can buy its 8GB + 256GB variant after spending a few bucks more, around AU$560.

Unfortunately, it’s not in the stores in Australia – therefore, Aussies wouldn’t be able to buy this phone officially for now. However, it’s most likely that the Vivo S9e smartphone will start holding its position on the shelves sooner than later.
