Mr Yeh Ching-Tai, a young man behind the Ritek’s origin, started the company with the passion and love for music and voracious eagerness for the business. Yeh Ching-Tai started manufacturing Vinyl Records in 1957 despite facing many challenges of costly developing process and easily spoiled materials and learnt a lot from his competitors. Yeh Ching-Tai knew the music industry was going to develop, he abruptly took the initiative and established the RITEK Corporation in 1988.

Started with the Music Industry, in 1957 Yeh Jintai and Fan Zhengbo established the Ming Feng Record company and started producing the Vinyl Records and recording. Published famous Green Island Serenade that was the work of female singer Zi Wei.
In 1980, after importing 24-track from Switzerland, a Japanese technician invited to Taiwan where the brand founded Platinum Studio for the music consumption to be digitalisation.
In 1985, Mr Yeh took his firm to enter the Field of CD manufacturing with a quality group of engineers and start manufacturing with simple plastic pressing and gaining expertise step by step, and now the rest is history.
A significant achievement came in 1988 when Mr Jin-Tai Yeh founded the RITEK Corporation in 1998, and in 1990 RITEK manufactured the first CD. Taiwan’s first CD was constructed with the assistance of MSRL and LITR (Mechanical and System Research Laboratories and Industrial Technology Research Institute) respectively.
In 1991, RITEK became the formal member of IFPI Foundation held in Taiwan and became the first Optical Disc Manufacturer in Taiwan with ISO 9002 Certification in 1995.
RITEK USA-Advance Media Inc. discovered in 1996, not only this, but also RITEK Produced the first CD-RW and DVD in 1996 and becoming Taiwan’s first DVD and CD-RW manufacturer. Another achievement RITEK held in the same year was the listing on the stock exchange.
In 1997, RITEK Australia signed the copyright verification agreement with MPA (Music Publishers Association) and established the optical disc factory in the United Kingdom. In the same year, RITEK manufactured Taiwan’s first DVD-R and achieved the ISO 9001 certification for producing Optical Disc.
In 1998, Taiwan’s first DVD-RAM was launched, and with this, in the very next year, the RITEK Foundation was founded as U-Tech Corporation. U-Tech was the largest Pre-recorded media manufacturer in Taiwan at that time. Also, they produced the first OLED for its country. In 1999, RITEK Australia also caught the big fish by achieving ISO 14001 Environmental Certification and established the Disc factory in Germany alongside the joint venture with Philips.
Taiwan’s first fully automated OLED mass production line was established in 2000 along with the RiTdisplay Corporation, which was the first OLED manufacturer in Taiwan. In Current year, the company held another achievement to their drawer by achieving the QS 9000 Certification for manufacturing the Optical Disc.
Two significant factories came into existence under the RITEK name in 2001 was the establishment of HUTEK (The optical Disc factory) and the PRORIT Corporation (World’s Largest Disc Boxes and CD boxes Factory).
RITEK Australia becomes the World First Optical Disc manufacturer in 2002 that was capable of mass-producing all series of Discs such as DVD – R/RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW, MD, MO, and Data Play.
The company certified as a Green Partner of Sony in 2004, while working on the Health and Safety Management RITEK achieved OHSAS 18001 OHSM (Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification) in 2005. RITEK also achieved ISO 14001:2000, 9001:2000, and RICOH’s CMS certification in the same year.
The CD-R, DVD-R, and DVD+R awarded with the Type 2 Green Mark by Environmental Protection Administration (EPA). For the excellent performance and durability in manufacturing Storage Media, the brand received Taiwan’s Superior Brand honour of 2016 and received it as well in 2007.
ITO conductive Glass manufacturer by AimCore Technology Co. Ltd was founded in 2007. The next year RITEK Australia formed with the Leading Solar Energy Company Scheuten. Other achievements came in the way of this Leading Storage Media brand was OHSAS18001 certification, iF Product Design Award by Germany iF (International Forum Design), and Good Design Award by Japan Institute of Design and Promotion. The only Optical Disc brand receiving the Honor of Top 100 Taiwan Brands by Ministry of Economic & Affairs in 2011, RITEK and SolarEdge mutually founded the innovations in Solar System. In 2012, RITEK Australia was awarded by the gold-award with the rating of 3C Products by PCDIY.
In 2013, the brand bought another innovative product named as M-Disc DVD & M-DISC BD that keeps the permanent backup for thousands of years. Yet another honour of Top 100 Brands award of Vietnam National Office Of Intellectual Property Of Vietnam sticks with the brilliant brand for its high-quality, and long-term storage in 2015.
In 2016, the RITEK Corporation won the Taiwan Excellent PV Award by the Bureau of Energy and Ministry of Economic Affairs. Working for the Society and welfare RITEK introduced the RIcare Day service Center in alliance with Japan’s elderly daycare centre in 2016. The company’s solar module won the Taiwan Excellent PV Award as well on the same year.
The American’s Military Club of the 1950s renovated in 2017 by RITEK Group and discovered the Brick Yard 33 1/3. Another award falls into the core of RITEK, this time it was for the Technology trend which was given by PC HOME and PC ADV 3C famous professional Media for Technology Trends in Taiwan.
In the same year (2017) the brand holds the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 Certification. RITEK Australia gained a massive achievement by becoming Japan’s Panasonic’s Overseas Partner in 2018 for (Archival Disc) AD production. Recently in 2018, RITEK claimed the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certification.
