After getting leaked about a week ago, Oppo released another flagship smartphone from Oppo’s A-series named Oppo A5 in Australia with an impressive list of features over its predecessors. Oppo slightly announced its device by revealing the first photos of the glossy smartphone. The Oppo A5 targets those on a budget who are looking to get a value as well. Let’s dig down inside and see what it dishes out for its audience.

Oppo A5 Display

Oppo is known for its biggest displays and interestingly Oppo A5 is no different. Even better, the screen has a 19:9 aspect ratio and dishes out a notch at the top. At the bottom, there is a visible chin which is always annoying, though. Nevertheless, a gorgeous 6.2-inches HD+ IPS LCD display – tall enough for big screen lovers, but nothing special. The display has 720 pixels x 1520 pixels of resolution and 271 PPI for full HD experience. Everything aside, Oppo A5 stretches around 81.2% screen-to-body ratio.

Oppo A5 Camera

On paper, it’s well-equipped with a dual 13MP + 2MP rear cameras supported by PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) with LED flash. The secondary 2MP sensor has a depth sensor and helps in portrait mode and background blur. An LED flash aside, cameras are backed by several features i.e. Touch Focus, Face Detection, Panorama, HDR, Geo-Tagging, and more. The 8MP front-facing camera, on the other hand, lets you capture gorgeous moments with your near and dear. Not only this, you can also record videos of 1080p@30fps (Yahoo!).

Oppo A5 Performance

The brain behind Oppo A5 is Qualcomm SDM450 Snapdragon 450 coupled with a whopping 4GB of RAM. The chipset uses leading-edge 14nm technology. There is 8-cores of processor clocking at 1.8GHz as well. The Adreno 506, however, manages a graphical department pretty good. The overall performance is butter smooth and gives the users a lag-free experience whether you play graphics-intensive games or work on multiple apps simultaneously.

Oppo A5 Storage and OS

The Oppo A5 is backed by a massive onboard memory – 64GB which is ready to accommodate your files and other data with ease. Looking for more? You’re in luck. The Oppo A5 enables users to increase its onboard memory further up to 256GB via microSD card (Hooray!).

As far as its software factor is concerned, Oppo A5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System – planned to upgrade to Android P 9.0 before the year is out.

Oppo A5 Price

As stated earlier, Oppo A5 has been priced at CNY 1500 (roughly AU$300). It will be available for pre-orders in China starting July 13, 2018, whereas Oppo A5 Price in Australia, as well as availability in Australia both, are yet to be known. We’ll update this segment as soon as we hear more.

Oppo A5 Battery

In terms of battery, Oppo A5 makes up for its flaws by sporting a really large battery. This thing comes with a 4230mAh battery, whereas a predecessor Oppo A3 only comes with a 3400mAh battery capacity. Since it will be powering a less-demanding hardware, you can expect dazzling battery performance from this thing.
