Huawei announced a variant of the Mate 20 X equipped with the new generation 5G connectivity, which was under the name of Huawei Mate 20X 5G. As for the 5G lovers who love to use 5G technology Huawei announced another amazing smartphone for those to enjoy 5G technology with the best smartphone. Huawei Mate 20 X 5G in Australia is not announced yet. The release date of this smartphone is expected to be in next month.

5G technology is the first difference that it has. The second and only existing difference is the battery, which has been reduced to 4200mAh (same as the Mate 20 Pro) of the original 5000mAh. To compensate for this loss of autonomy, the company has replaced the technology of fast charging from 22.5W to one of 40W so it can be loaded from 0 to 100% in about 40 minutes.

Operating System and Features

The Mate 20 X was originally released in the second half of 2018, and now, with the 5G version, there are few changes. The battery, which in the original model was 5,000mAh, fell to 4,200mAh the 22.5 W charger, by contrast, jumped to 40 W, the same used in the P30 Pro. Even the similarities with the P30 Pro do not stop there. On the back, the Mate 20 X (5G) comes with three Leica cameras, 40 MP main camera, 20 MP wide-angle camera and 8 MP optical zoom up to 5x.

Another difference is that there is no fingerprint reader under the screen at Mate 20 X instead, the biometric sensor is in the back. In contrast, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a hybrid micro SD memory card slot, without a proprietary standard adopted by Huawei on the P30 Pro. And because it is a large smartphone, the device is compatible with the M-Pen stylus, which will be sold separately.

Camera, Storage, and Battery

Huawei Mate 20 X mostly resembles Mate 20 Pro. It is equipped with the same cameras, like 40, 20 and 8 megapixels on the back, as well as 24 megapixels from the front. Although it also happens to refer to the "ordinary" Mate 20. The fingerprint reader has been placed on the backs of the casing. There is no chargeback. However, in terms of the amount of memory, be it operational or data, we return to the Pro version again. Its amount is 6 and 128 GB, respectively. The Kirin 980 chip remains. There are three new products. The phone has a 5G modem and its screen has been increased from just 6.4 to 7.2 inches. The resolution is 2244 x 1080 pixels, which is just like in the "ordinary" model. The battery with a capacity of 4200mAh comes directly from the Mate 20 Pro. And in addition, it has improved fast charging, which takes place here with 40 W, instead of 22.5 W.

Display and Design

The other features are practically the same in both versions, with the highlight for the 7.2-inch OLED screen in 18.7: 9 format and resolution of 2244 × 1080 pixels, and for the three cameras in the back. The phone is 174.6 x 85.4 x 8.2 mm in size and weighs 232 grams and comes out of the box with Android 9 Pie and EMUI 9. Thanks to its 40W fast charging support, the battery can be charged in a short time and comes with IP53 certification.

For those who love Huawei Mate 20 X and aren’t able to run 5G technology, Huawei announced its new smartphone with the same design in the same model having 5G enabled. Huawei Mate 20 X 5G in Australia is expected to be of AU 1600$. The release date of this smartphone is not yet confirmed the most expected release date is in the first week of June 2019.
