It seems like HTC is now working on a new latest greatest and coolest smartphone and a teaser from HTC suggests it will start lading on shelves on August 30. Though availability of HTC U12 Life in Australia is undecided but it’s expected to be arriving right after a few days of its official launch. A most recent teaser posted on Twitter, says “Something New for U” which means it’s the latest entry in U range. Be noted, “U” isn’t a name of a handset but HTC U12 life is the obvious candidate – as which is been leaked previously. Aside from its official release date, HTC U12 is a phone with “Beauty and Power Meet” suggesting a well-powered and dazzling design smartphone. Don’t be excited as it’s a budget-friendly mid-range smartphone instead of a flagship. Let’s find out what it dishes out for its audience.

Intro and Display

Without a doubt, HTC U12 Life is a cut-down variant of recently released HTC U12 Plus (flagship smartphone). The handset comes up with a Plastic rear panel and ships with a fingerprint scanner, mounted on a front, embedded in the home button. Moreover, it houses an IP67 certification, making U12 Life a dust and water resistant.

A gorgeous, crisp and bright 6.0-inches Super LCD display with a maximum resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels is an ideal for those love playing 3D games and watching HD movies on a big screen. The display has warm colour reproduction and is partnered with excellent viewing angles. And to prevent it from minor falls and scratches, a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is here.

Camera and Battery

Moving on its camera section, HTC U12 Life bears a dual but exquisite camera configuration – 16MP + 13MP – specially designed to capture quality-oriented images with a lot of details even in tough lighting conditions. Out front, you’ll see a powerful 13MP FaceTime sensor to assist you in selfies and video calling with your nearest and dearest. The camera features are included Geo-Tagging, Touch Focus, Face Detection, Auto Flash, Digital Zoom, Dynamic Range Mode, Panorama, HDR and a few others.

How about a battery? The smartphone comes loaded with an average 3000mAh non-removable battery which promises to last 7-8 hours of on-screen time with mixed activities e.g. watching videos, browsing the Internet, texting and playing 3D games. Either it comes with Fast Charging feature or not, it’s something we’re short on words, for now. In short, it’s too prompt to discuss.

Performance and OS

Inside the beast, there is a beast. HTC U12 Life is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset – coupled with a whopping 4GB of RAM for giving users smooth and silky and lag-free smartphone experience. In addition, users can indulge their selves in multitasks and can play graphics-intensive games without affecting the performance.

In terms of software, HT U12 Life runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and it’s going to be HTC’s first Android One smartphone.

Price and Availability

A predecessor “HTC U11 Life” was released back in December. Chances are U12 life will be officially released in September 2018 in Australia. As of now, we can only wait. As far as HTC U12 Life Price in Australia is concerned, it’s expected to cost around AU$400 as U11 Life were landed at AU$350. So, a little hike in price is possible.

Storage and Connectivity

The HTC U12 Life is well-equipped with a massive and impressive 64GB of onboard memory to accommodate your files and data with ease. Hence users can save oodles data including images, videos, and even movies. Most important of all, it can be expanded further up to 256GB further with a help of microSD card.

There is numerous connectivity alongside U12 Life such as USB Type-C port, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G with VoLTE support and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.
