Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Review

Another year, another Samsung Galaxy S flagship “Samsung Galaxy S9” and “Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus” the most advanced and big smartphone thanks it’s oversized screen and stunning camera even if it looks identical to S8 Plus. But, there’s not a much difference between these two flagship devices stylistically, as same design language has been followed. Moreover, in this article, we have compared the two phones across every single category, so it’s much easier to see exactly what’s new and what’s not. So, let’s check out.

Release Date:

The Samsung Galaxy S9 release date is set for March 16, 2018, globally, which means the phone is right around the corner. You will have to wait a little longer to declare you S9 intentions if you are in the US, but you can pre-order Samsung Galaxy S9 in Australia right now which sounds good.

Price:

When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S9 prices, there’s a less good news for those in the Australia and UK as it’s more expensive than last year’s S8 Plus. Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with different storage capacities to create a price tier. The available storages are 64GB, 128GB and 256GB and prices vary respectively.

Samsung has revealed it’s pricing for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. You can expect Galaxy S9 64GB prices in Australia $1,199 whereas Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus 64GB pricesin Australia $1,349. When it comes to the 256GB onboard variant, Samsung Galaxy S9 256GB prices in Australia sit at $1,349, on the other hand, S9 Plus 256GB prices in Australia start from $1,499 which make this phone a bit expensive than its rivals without a doubt. Though we haven’t much information about the Galaxy S9 128GB prices in Australia so far but assumed that the price will be between AU$1,199-$1,499, and the same price line goes for S9 Plus 128GB prices in Australia.

Despite Samsung Galaxy S9 plus prices are comparatively higher than the other flagships in this price range, but there’s no secret that this is a decidedly incremental upgrade from Samsung.

S9 and S9 Plus are All About Camera:

Samsung Galaxy S9 camera is ready for all of your nightmarish low-lit photo scenarios as the phone is loaded with a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Furthermore, the S9 is equipped with AF sensor with OIS (F1.5/F2.4),allowing the camera aperture to expand and contract depending on light level. When the light drops below 100 lux, the /1.5 aperture allows the S9 camera to such as more light – 28% to 30% than the S8, to be definite.

Besides, S9 Plus comes with a dual camera with dual OIS, wide-angle, super dual pixel 12MP AF sensor whereas 8MP AF sensor sits on a front for selfies. Samsung has made powerful camera hardware changes vs LG’s pure software Al approach with the LG V30 ThinkQ. As compared to the S8, the S9 Plus is capable enough to soak in 28% more light with 30% less noise. DRAM is a great addition to S9 Plus as it allows photos to be made up of a compound of 12 frames in place of 3 frames.

S9 and S9 Plus Design:

It won’t be wrong if we call Samsung Galaxy S9 as a “Samsung Galaxy S9 Edge”. Because the device has curved LED display, but doesn’t look all that different to the phone it’s replacing. Though the bezels below and above have been groomed a little, helping to reduce the overall height of the phone. Moreover, the S9 has premium glass and metal body which looks pretty similar to the S8, and gladly, fingerprint scanner has shifted the location from beside the camera sensor to below it which is a good new.

Likewise, the Galaxy S9 Plus is a most stylish-looking smartphone thanks to Samsung continuing its design mindset of merging a glass panel with a metal frame. Samsung has made meaningful changes on the rear as you’ll find the fingerprint sensor on the back again, but now it’s adjusted in the center, right below the rear camera. The S9 Plus is available in three dazzling colors, including the new standout Lilac Purple, Midnight Black, and Titanium Gray.
