Samsung Galaxy S10 – Everything We Know So Far

Rumors and suggestions about Samsung Galaxy S10 in Australia have been spinning since before Samsung’s super-powerful Galaxy Note 9 release. From the wide or waterdrop-notches to the number of rear cameras, there is a whole lot of speculation – especially in terms of front design.

Yesterday, a whole heap of information about Samsung Galaxy S10 was unveiled including its official release date, specifications, features, size, and pricing, of course.

Size and Features

So far, we have heard that Samsung is going to launch Galaxy S10 in 3 different versions – and it sounds correct to some extent. We are expecting a basic model of the handset with an impressive 6.1-inches screen and a “Plus” version with a 6.4-inches screen. And as far as the “Lite” version is concerned, it should be around 5.8-inches.

Hey! Get ready for something new as according to Samsung, a corner notch isn’t gonna happen. Yes! You read that correctly. Based on a report from Gizmodo UK, an Infinity-O screen will be making an appearance. It’s a great alternative to a small notch and will comprise a sensor for selfies and video calls.

That’s not really surprising at least for us as we have already got our hands on Huawei Nova 4 which comprises the same design and same size of the hole in the screen for the front-facing camera. We also knew that this could be a possibility after a budget-friendly smartphone named Samsung Galaxy A8s revealed.

Well, we aren’t damn sure about rumored six-camera configuration but we are very hopeful to see. As expected, Galaxy S10 will comprise an ultrasonic on-screen fingerprint scanner that utilizes ultrasound waves – have the capability to read the ridges of a finger in 3D.

That is absolutely different from an ordinary fingerprint scanner which we have already seen in nowadays’ smartphones. Onto 5G, S10 lacks – however, Samsung is currently working on 5G networks in the United States with its partnered Verizon.

Everything is to be believed, 5G service will arrive in “late Q2 at the earliest” but unfortunately, it’s not relevant to Australia.

Key Specifications

Though Samsung didn’t reveal an entire sheet of Samsung Galaxy S10 specifications, we do know something.

  • Lite Version: 128GB of ROM
  • Regular Version: 128GB or 512GB of ROM

There is a big daddy Plus model which won’t only arrive in 128GB or 512GB options, it’s likely to arrive with a 1TB option as well. The Exynos 9820 Chipset isn’t confirmed yet but it’ll be no surprise if it turns out to be true.

Availability and Price

Of course, a saucy part where things get really interesting. Keeping Samsung Galaxy S9 in mind, Samsung Galaxy S10 is most likely to arrive at the Mobile World Conference in February 2019. Apparently not! According to the launch of Samsung’s Wall Television and Note 9, Samsung is seemingly be holding another standalone Unpacked event to launch Galaxy S10. It’s expected on February 20th.

The handset is said to be ready for pre-ordering worldwide from 20th February 2019 and will officially start landing on shores globally from March 8th, 2019.

The Australian pricing details are yet to be revealed but alleged UK prices are now out there. The 5.8-inches version is going to set users back approx. £669 and other versions are coming out with 128GB and 512GB of ROM at £799 and £999 respectively. Taking help from Google’s Quick Currency Converter, Samsung Galaxy S10 Prices in Australia are expected AU$1170, AU$1406 and AU$1758 respectively.

Final Words

Well, all the above information is quite exciting, but it’s important to note that none of the details have been confirmed by the brand itself. This is just what we have heard and searched on the Internet, we don’t even know what will be the exact name of that beast. Chances are it could get called “Beyond” which is how Samsung refers.

Putting all rumors and suggestions of Galaxy S10 aside for a short while, it’ll indeed have a fully-baked and decent amount of specifications. But, it’ll be expensive whenever it arrives and users who really don’t want their wallets to cry, won’t be able to get their hands on one.

We are keeping an eye on all other rumors, suggestions, and facts. As soon as we hear more, we will let you know. Meanwhile, share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
