Nokia X6 Review: Dual Rear Cameras, 19:9 Wide Screen, Notched Display and More

Nokia X6 is now official, featuring the 5.8-inch large display with 2280×1080 resolution and 19:9 wide aspect ratio. The device will be available in three variants with two storage options: 32GB and 64GB. It will also come with MicroSD card expansion capacity up to 128GB. The new Nokia X6 is powered by Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor, and up to 6GB of RAM.

Talking about its camera, the device is loaded with 16MP + 5MP dual-lens camera on the back and a 16MP optimum quality Selfie camera. A 3060mAH powerful battery is included within the device, which is non-removable. In addition, the device is backed by latest Android Operating System version.

Nokia X6 Release Date and Availability

Nokia X6 mobile phone has been released in China on 22th of May 22, 2018. The Nokia device is available to purchase all over China and some other parts of Asia. If you are considering Nokia X6 release date in Australia and other parts of the world, we will have to wait a while.

Nokia X6 is available to purchase in three variants. Nokia X6 price for 4GB/32GB variant is just 1299 Yuan similar to the Nokia 6 price. Nokia X6 price for the 4GB/64GB variant is 1499 Yuan and for 6GB/64GB variant, the price is 1699 Yuan. European prices are not announced yet. Design and Display

First time in the history of Nokia, you will find a much better rounded designed and notched display smartphone device. In terms of look and feel, it is almost identical to iPhone X phone. The new Nokia X6 2018 featuring the perfect 5.8-inch large Full HD Plus display. As we mentioned above, it is the first ever phone from HMD Global to feature a notched display. Due to this, the panel offers 1080x2280 FHD+ resolution with a 19:9 wide aspect ratio. With Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer protection, you will also found a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device.


One of the most prominent features of the Nokia X6 mobile phone is related to its 16MP+5MP dual-cameras on the rear side. The main shooter of the smartphone device is the 16MP RGB sensor that is coupled with a f/2.0 large aperture, whereas the secondary 5MP monochrome sensor comprises of f/2.2 aperture lens.

For capturing outstanding photographs, the Nokia X6 comes loaded with AI technology along with deep image learning features. It provides an AI portrait mode and intelligent scene recognition feature.

The device also includes an incredible 16MP front-facing camera to shoot best selfies. In general, the 16MP selfie cam on the smartphone is almost same to featured Nokia 7 Plus flagship device. It comes with the same sensor with 16 Mega-pixels resolution, supported by a f/2.0 aperture lens. The major difference is that the Nokia 7 Plus front-facing camera uses ZEISS optics. In terms of features, the Selfie Cam supports AI selfies with bokeh effects, Face Unlock, and AR stickers.


When it comes to performance, it is the first ever phone to be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 octa-core CPU. The 14nm processor is clocked at 1.8 GHz frequency and includes an Adreno 509 GPU for graphics support. In terms of overall performance, the Snapdragon 636 is a nice improvement comparing with the Snapdragon 630 CPU chipset that powers the Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 (2018).


Although the mobile phone only includes a 3060mAh average capacity battery, it comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. And the key feature here is fast-charging support.  According to the manufacturer, the X6’s battery can be charged up to the 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Isn’t amazing?


As far as OS software is concerned, the new Nokia X6 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and possibly will receive Android P update.

The Nokia X6 device is available to buy in three memory variants in China, one with 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, second with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and third with 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. Like another budget, Nokia Android mobile phones, the newly released X6 offers Hybrid Dual-SIM slots.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0, Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS, USB Type-C, and 4G VoLTE. And, it is loaded with all the necessary sensors.
