Nokia 7.1 Plus (AKA Nokia X7) Review
In a last two years, we’ve seen the serious return of Nokia under HMD Global in a world of smartphones with a release of a plentiful attractive smartphone such as Nokia 6.1 which is indeed one of the best smartphones of 2018 and, of course, Nokia 8 Sirocco– a smartphone everyone fell in love with. We also saw a mid-range smartphone named Nokia 7 Plus with a decent amount of power, a good camera, and a gorgeous 6-inches screen. While we’re enjoying using it, another smartphone from Nokia has been rumoured to be landed on shelves named Nokia 7.1 Plus in Australia and with a different name “Nokia X7” in China.
Nokia 7.1 Plus Release Date and Price
The official Nokia 7.1 Plus release date in Australia isn’t announced, to be honest. And when will it arrive, it’s something we’re short on words on, for now. Everything will be cleared in a couple of days as its official release date is coming closer day by day.
However, Nokia 7.1 Plus which is actually known as the Nokia X7 in China, will arrive on Chinese shelves late October or early November.
As far as Nokia 7.1 Plus Price in Australia is concerned, there’s been no word. But it’s safe to expect Nokia 7.1 Plus to arrive at a similar price point to Nokia 7 Plus which set users back around AU$651. We do recommend you to expect a little hike in price.

Design and Display
The last year’s Nokia 7 Plus’ design was quite underwhelming as the screen was anything and it was only one of the phone’s strongest points. Now, it appears that Nokia is looking to shore up those weaknesses while hopefully holding onto those strengths as an image of Nokia 7.1 Plus has been spotted.
The leaked image indicates a bigger screen alongside vertically positioned rear cameras – accompanied by an underslung fingerprint scanner. And it’s expected to be landed in 2 different colours – Copper and Silver. Some online sources also claim that it will have a glossy, shiny finish. The Copper colour looks pretty impressive and if a leaked image turns out to be true, it’s going to be a very attractive mid-range smartphone around.
Earlier rumours have suggested that it’s coming with a notch whereas renders claimed a device without notch. Nokia Power User says, the handset alongside a notch will be Nokia 7.1 Plus and a notch-less device will be Nokia 7.1.
Many rumours, on the other hand, suggesting that Nokia 7.1 Plus will house a 6.18-inches IPS LCD screen with a maximum resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels.
Based on Whispers, Zeiss has made a comeback again to work with Nokia – tuning a dual camera configuration on a rear of Nokia 7.1 Plus but there’ve been a bunch of other details released. Even less is known about FaceTime sensor – though – it’s assumed that there is only a single. The rear dual camera lenses include 12MP + 13MP with an aperture of f/1.8 and 20MP FaceTime sensor with an aperture of f/2.0. One would be able to record videos at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.
The Nokia 7.1 Plus looks set to be getting a lot of upgrades over Nokia 7 Plus such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 which will be taking up residence in Nokia’s new midrange handset. And if it’s true, one will get strong performance thanks to the premium midrange chipset.
No other specifications have been leaked, as of now, but it’s reasonable to expect that Nokia 7.1 Plus won’t arrive with specs lower as compared to Nokia 7 Plus. However, we’ve heard that the onboard memory will be 64GB/128GB with 4GB/6GB of RAM respectively.
