LG to Announce Famed Rollable OLED TV Sooner in 2019

It’s been almost a year since we have been hearing about Foldable Smartphones across the Internet. Now, LG showed off an OLED TV which will be rolled up like a poster. Perhaps, that sounds strange to you? But, it’s true. According to reports, this OLED TV is set to be back in CES 2019.

LG’s Rollable OLED TV seems to be returning to CES in 2019 but for now, it’s not only a concept model. According to Bloomberg source, LG’s this Rollable OLED TV will start landing on shores worldwide in 2019 after its January resurrection.

This information further confirmed by Engadget in their documents almost a month ago. However, it was then taken as a pinch of salt because that documents also suggested LG will unveil a foldable smartphone in January. Now a well-known tech leaker Evan Blass has confirmed that this isn’t the case.

The latest and slimmest TV that LG is going to launch at CES – so far, has the same specifications as last year’s model such as 65-inches OLED screen, automatic retracting. When it’s not in use, it can be rolled down into its base storage or rest with a few inches will still be exposed to displaying information e.g. weather, time and date.

Bloomberg in their report further says, LG isn’t planning to launch a foldable smartphone in January (Evan Blass is right),a 5G smartphone is already on its way which is expected to be released at Mobile World Congress in 2019 in February.

According to Bloomberg,

“In fact, LG reportedly doubts the profitability of such a [folding] device given the uncertainty of demand and the cost of producing such a large screen for a mobile gadget”.

Let’s put every rumor and suggestion aside for a short while, development of a foldable smartphone by LG is up in the air. But LG’s snazzy and spec-efficient TV will definitely be hitting stores across the globe in 2019. Let’s wait a couple of days more for release date and price.
