Huawei P30 Pro Review – Price, Features and Specifications

A Chinese giant has now taken the wraps off the most-anticipated and latest entries in its P-Series named P30 and P30 Pro. A number of upgrades compared with their predecessors are included in both flagship handsets, such as Kirin 980 chipset that debuted Huawei Mate 20 Pro, a small waterdrop-like notch, considerably bigger batteries, and redesigned cameras. And that’s a latter which really helps P30 Pro stand out from the competition. Huawei has overdone itself with the P30 Pro, based on a 3x lossless optical zoom launched with the P20 Pro last year. Well, if you're looking for a really unique experience in a smartphone camera, or want to start an amateur detective agency and need a serious zoom in your pocket - that beast might have to be your next smartphone.

Huawei P30 Pro Specs

The Huawei P30 Pro Specifications include 6.47-inches screen based on OLED screen, Android Pie 9.0 OS with EMUI 9.1, four rear cameras, Bluetooth 5.0, on-screen fingerprint scanner which is super-fast and 4200mAh non-removable battery. The handset also includes:

So Many Cameras

The innovation of the P30 Pro is that of Huawei's four rear camera lenses with smartphones. A vertically stacked three-lens array has a super-spectrum 40-megapixel lens, an ultra-wide 20-MP lens, and a periscope zoom lens 8-MP. On the right of the triple-lens stack is a small time-of-flight lens.

The 40-MP lens has a new green-to-yellow sensor. This means that the sensor lenses in Huawei are lighter than before, as the yellow light spectrum is greater than the green light spectrum. Photos captured by this lens show that the cookies are illuminated by an external light source, like Google's Pixel 3 Night Sight mode, but with more natural results. The Pro provides an ISO level of DSLR, up to 409,500 — with 6,400 ISO defaults for most other smartphone cameras.

The 8-MP zoom lens has a square shape because it is all rotated by the integrated periscope prism at 90 degrees. To be honest, the zoom is a bit insane. The lens has 10x hybrid zoom so that when you laser in a topic, you don't lose details. The 50x digital zoom may be overcrowded because the slightest movement of your hand changes the entire composition of the photograph.

This year's ToF lens, which will lead to additional flagship phones (including 5G Galaxy S10 Samsung when the phone reaches the spring),understands how much time it takes for light to move from the subject to the phone. This enables the portrait Bokeh effect to be visibly improved and can also be used for applications for enhanced reality. Almost no effort is needed together for the Pro's quad-lens array. To take advantage of the new hardware, Huawei has improved Pro's camera software with artificial intelligence. The AI stabilization enables a long-term shot to be taken in just 4 seconds.

Design

Huawei is not only building one of the best cameras for a smartphone. The company is also one of the few phone makers who try to separate their devices from the unusual package. Other firms have come up with more innovative ways to disguise their front cameras, the bright color-gradient back of the P30's are so amazing. You can see that in Oppo Find X and Samsung Galaxy S10. P30 and larger Pro are in five different shades: Amber Sunrise is a fire-like, pearlescent, orange-infused red, Breathing Crystal is a light blue /purple/rose, Pearl White is iridescent in other chromes, such as pink and yellow. In contrast to the plain black plates we saw in the last few years from other SMMs, even the basic black is reminiscent of smoke.

Display

The Huawei’s P30 Pro design feels a lot premium as compared to its smaller sibling - thanks to the curved glass on both front and back. But otherwise, both handsets' full HD+ OLED panels with 2340 x 1080 resolution are equally beautiful - whether it's P20's 6.1-inches or Pro's 6.47-inches. These are not Galaxy S10 or S10 Plus - that house Samsung's curved AMOLED wide quad HD+ panels with a resolution of 3040 x 1440 pixels which are easily the best around - but P30 Pro and standard P30 displays are nothing to complain about. Huawei snaps with the Mate 20 Pro and the P30 and the P30 Pro are continuing this trend on a display fingerprint sensor bandwagon. It seemed to be responsive when online sources tested it in their own hands but they will test the devices for how they stack up to One Plus 6T and Galaxy S10.

Performance and ROM

Huawei's taking on Android, EMUI, is not everyone's favorite, although the most recent version, EMUI 9.1 made with Android Pie, is expected to deliver improvements in performance, including faster app launch. And Apple's AirDrop feature, called OneHop, is designed to share images and documents seamlessly on Huawei PCs. The Kirin 980 dual-NPU Huawei chip is expected to produce the very strong power that we saw in the Mate 20 Pro, which sports the same chip when it comes to its efficiency. Stay tuned as some online sources will compare the P30 Pro with other top Android flagships running on the brand-new Snapdragon 855 CPU from Qualcomm. The 855-powered Snapdragon Galaxy S10 has already surmounted all Android phones, including the Kirin 980 and the Mate 20 Pro.

The P30 Pro comes in three storage tiers to choose from – 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Most important of all, it’s still expandable further up to 256GB with the help of microSD card. Thus, one can save loads and loads of data with ease such as images, files, videos, and even movies and can access them later with a peace of mind.

Battery

The P30 Pro also shares the 4,200mAh Mate 20 Pro battery pack, together with fast charging and wireless charging. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro wasn't the longest-lasting smartphone under heavy usage but a 40-watt quick-charger is available in the box which juices up the handset from 0% to 70% in 30 minutes. This separates the Mate 20 Pro from the flagship pack and we expect the P30 Pro to produce similar results. The smaller P30 is also equipped with a smaller battery and does not support a 40-watt fast charge, so it does not take as long or charge as the Pro.
